Discovery Flights – Unique Places 12

I am very pleased to be able to offer you more discovery flights today. These flights take you to unique places that very few people in the world know about and that are therefore not highlighted in the simulator. Nevertheless, they exist—though they cannot be noticed unless you’re told about them.

These 6 discovery flights focus primarily on both modern and prehistoric geoglyphs, but also on a fascinating, colorful mountain landscape in the Andes, one of the largest open-pit copper mines on Earth, and a pair of special sunglasses. What you’ll see on these discovery flights:

• The Esperanza geoglyph and crab
• Cusipata Geoglyph and the Red Valley
• 500 Geoglyphs of Chug-Chug and the Chuquicamata Mine
• Pachuca Geoglyph
• WILDLIFE Geoglyph (Thanks to Mike)
• Topock Maze and Sunglasses in the Desert

During these discovery flights, you never fly directly toward the selected object. You must follow directions to find it. This makes the flight a bit more exciting, and you can discover many other interesting things in the simulator along the way. But don’t worry—you’ll always find it. After searching for a while, a marker visible from a distance will indicate the object in question. This might give your ambition a little extra boost. See if you can find what you’re looking for before the marker appears.

If a tile for one of the flights is missing under Activities / Third-Party Content, it’s usually because an aircraft from the Standard Edition and/or a livery for it is missing. So make sure that all standard aircraft, including their liveries, are installed. The only exceptions are the jets; I don’t use them for these flights.
