Ganges River

The Ganges River is so much more than just a source of water for people and agriculture. For Hindus, it is a sacred river that millions of people come to every year to bathe in and rid themselves of impurities and sins. The bush trip leads from Kolkata over the Ganges delta upstream, through Bangladesh, along the Ganges plain in India to the headwaters in the Himalayas.

Fly through the deepest valley in the world: The Kali Gandaki Valley and the Dhaulagiri peak are two of the most impressive sights in the Himalayas. The valley's bottom and the peak's summit are separated by more than 5,600 meters, making it one of the highest and most striking contrasts. To the east, the Annapurna peak soars to an impressive height of over 8000 meters. These two peaks are only about 34 kilometers apart, creating a breathtaking landscape.

Mississippi River

A journey along the Mississippi is an amazing journey through the history, culture, and nature of North America. It begins at Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota, where the river arises from the lake as a small stream. From there, the river flows southwards through ten US states, passing through cities such as Minneapolis, St. Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans. Along the way, you can admire a diverse landscape of forests, prairies, floodplain forests, and marshes. And there's more! The river is also home to a variety of wildlife, including beavers, otters, bald eagles, pelicans, and alligators.

Amazon River

The Amazon is an fascinating natural wonder that holds so many secrets and treasures! It is the most water-rich river in the world and crosses the largest tropical rainforest on earth. It is home to an enormous variety of plant and animal species, many of which are still unexplored. It plays an important role in the global climate and the livelihood of millions of people. The river is the lifeline of the Amazon rainforest, the largest contiguous area of tropical forest in the world. The Amazon covers an incredible 5.5 million square kilometers and spans nine countries: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It's a biodiversity hotspot, home to an estimated 10% of all known species worldwide. And it's an important carbon sink, producing about 20% of the world's oxygen and storing large amounts of greenhouse gases. However, there is still hope! The Amazon rainforest is under severe threat from deforestation, mining, agriculture, infrastructure and climate change.

Missouri River

The Missouri River is a truly remarkable river! It rises in the Rocky Mountains in Montana and flows east and south 3767 km before flowing into the Mississippi River north of St. Louis. With a catchment area of more than 1.3 million km², it covers parts of ten US states and two Canadian provinces. The Missouri River is a major transportation route and a source of water, energy and recreation. The Missouri River has a fascinating history, with many different groups of people having left their mark on it. Native Americans, European explorers, fur traders, settlers and various conflicts have all played a part in its rich history.
