Hardly known, it is the longest and deepest canyon in Europe. That is why it is also called the Grand Canyon of Europe. The Tara River, at 140 kilometres the longest river in Montenegro, has carved its way into the rocks of this canyon. The river impresses with rapids, waterfalls up to 60 meters high and last but not least with the eerily beautiful colour of the water. The canyon winds its way through a magnificent mountainous landscape, which in spring and summer is the greenest of forests.
