■ Challenges Highlights

TFFJ – St. Barthélemy — The runway sits in a shallow bowl at the base of a hill on the island's northern coast, and the standard approach requires crossing directly over the hill crest at low altitude before diving steeply onto the threshold.

TNCM – Princess Juliana Intl, Sint Maarten — One of the most famous airports in the world, Princess Juliana is legendary for its terrifyingly low approaches over Maho Beach, where aircraft cross the boundary fence at rooftop height above the sunbathers.

MHTG – Toncontín Intl - One of the most dangerous approaches. The standard approach requires a steep, curved descent through the valley with a rapid descent rate on final, breaking off laterally at the last moment to align with the runway.

SPGL – Chagual Airport — Located in the La Libertad region of northern Peru. The airstrip sits on a narrow river terrace hemmed in by canyon walls rising hundreds of metres on both sides. Pilots must descend through the canyon on a tight, curved approach aligned with the river course before breaking to land on the terrace strip.
