Few anniversaries in commercial aviation carry the weight of Lufthansa's centennial. Founded in 1926, the German flag carrier grew from a modest domestic operation into one of the world's most respected intercontinental airlines, and no aircraft embodied that global ambition more completely than the Boeing 747. When Lufthansa's first Jumbo lifted off from Frankfurt in April 1970 — making it the first European carrier to operate the 747 on the North Atlantic — a new era began that would define the airline for the following five decades.

This mission pack places you at the controls of the Boeing 747-8 wearing the exclusive special livery created for Lufthansa's 100th founding anniversary: a deep navy fuselage dominated by an oversized white crane, one of the most striking commemorative paint schemes ever applied to a commercial aircraft. 12 IFR Ultra-Realistic Missions — Two Historic Arcs

The twelve missions are organized around two of the most significant long-haul routes in Lufthansa's 747 history: the Frankfurt–New York transatlantic corridor and the Frankfurt–Singapore intercontinental trunk route. Rather than condensing these journeys into single ultra-long sectors, each route has been deliberately broken down into a sequence of intermediate legs. This approach serves a precise purpose: it transforms what would otherwise be hours of uneventful oceanic cruise — visually monotonous and operationally passive — into a series of distinct, engaging flight experiences, each with its own departure environment, airspace structure, and destination of genuine interest.

The result is an immersive relay across two hemispheres: from the Rhine-Main basin to the Irish coast, across the North Atlantic to Newfoundland and New York, then westward through Chicago and Denver to Los Angeles; and separately, from Frankfurt southeast through Ankara and Doha, across the Indian subcontinent to Delhi, up onto the Tibetan Plateau at Lhasa, down through Bangkok, and finally into Singapore's Changi. Every leg has been researched for historical accuracy, operational realism, and narrative depth.
