ADVANCED VFR โ€“ ENGLAND

England has been mapped, painted, photographed, and written about more thoroughly than almost any comparable piece of land on earth. And yet there is one perspective it has never quite offered most people: the view from 3,500 feet, at cruise speed, in a single-engine aircraft with nowhere particular to be except the next airport.

Advanced VFR โ€” England is a package of twelve sequential VFR missions built for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 in a single journey. A comprehensive circuit of the country, from the Scottish border to the Cornish coast and back.

The Routes Every route was drawn by hand. Each flight follows a geographic logic: coastlines, river valleys, ridge lines, historic roads and uses carefully placed custom FIX waypoints to position the aircraft at the precise angle and altitude from which each landmark reads best.

The twelve missions cover England in three broad arcs: โ–  The Northern Arc (Missions 01โ€“04) departs from Charterhall on the Scottish border โ€” an airfield that earned the wartime nickname "Slaughter Hall" โ€” and works south through Northumberland, the Yorkshire coast, the Fens, and Cambridge. Along the way: Holy Island and Lindisfarne, the Angel of the North, Whitby Abbey, York Minster, Fountains Abbey, Lincoln Cathedral, the flat Lincolnshire plain, and Norwich.

โ–  The Southern Arc (Missions 05โ€“08) crosses from Cambridge to London City, follows the south coast from Kent to Hampshire, turns west through Wiltshire and Devon, and ends on Bodmin Moor. Landmarks include Lavenham's medieval wool town, the Cliffs of Dover, Canterbury Cathedral, HMS Victory at Portsmouth, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, the Jurassic Coast, Plymouth Sound, and the Eden Project.

โ–  The Western Arc (Missions 09โ€“12) closes the loop. From Bodmin Moor the route tracks northeast through Bristol, Birmingham, and Lancashire, finishing at Manchester. Glastonbury Tor, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Blenheim Palace, Oxford, Jodrell Bank, the Royal Liver Building, and Old Trafford are among the landmarks that mark the return.

The complete circuit covers the country from every cardinal direction. Fly all twelve in sequence and the geography of England assembles itself into a coherent whole.

โ–  The Beechcraft Bonanza G36 is the aircraft for this package. There is a reason it has been in continuous production since 1947: it is fast enough to cover ground, honest enough to reward skill, and comfortable enough to make you want to stay airborne.

โ–  Advanced Flight Monitoring and Support: While navigation is entirely visual, the missions are powered by an advanced monitoring system that tracks flight events with precision. Additionally, a virtual Co-pilot is provided to assist you, simulating a multi-crew environment;

โ–  Professional Briefings and Docs: Each mission includes a thorough verbal briefing designed to give you an authentic picture of VFR operations. These are supplemented by downloadable PDF briefings available in multiple languages, including English, Italian, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese;

โ–  Interactive Mission Companion: Realism is further extended outside the cockpit via a dedicated "Miniweb" interactive website. This tool supports the entire operational cycle from preflight to shutdown, combining modern web technology with aviation authenticity to simulate real-world pilot preparation and execution
