The CL-415 comes with the following liveries: Sécurité Civile (France), Quebec (Canada).

The CL-415 is a Canadian twin-engine, high-wing, amphibious aircraft developed for aerial firefighting applications. While primarily a fire suppression aircraft, the CL-415 has also been used for maritime patrol and search and rescue. The CL-415 took its maiden flight on December 6, 1993 and it entered service in 1994. It is used by government agencies of several countries, including Canada, the United States, France, Spain, Italy, Indonesia, and Greece.

The CL-415 is crewed by two and can carry up to 1,621 gallons of water for firefighting, 18 passengers, or 6,400 pounds of cargo. For its primary mission of “water bombing,” it can ingest its full capacity of 1,621 gallons of water on one touchdown “scoop” of a lake or other body of water. The ingested water can then be mixed with chemical suppressant, depending on the specific firefighting application. The CL-415 uses an advanced computer-controlled water / fire retardant release system that is programmable by the aircraft’s pilots. This system allows pilots to configure the amount and dispersal pattern of each drop. The aircraft incorporates a manual release in case of primary system malfunction.

The CL-415 was developed to handle rigorous flight profiles, notably wing loading. Key structural and exterior components were crafted for high resistance to corrosion, particularly degradation due to exposure to salt water. The CL-415 features a straight main wing with a span of 93 feet, 1 inch, a cruciform empennage, and retractable tricycle landing gear for terrestrial basing. It is powered by two wing-mounted Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF turboprop engines that each deliver up to 2,380 horsepower and drive four-blade Hamilton Standard propellers. The aircraft cruises at 207 miles per hour, has a top speed of 223 mph, and a stall speed of 78 mph. It has a climb rate of 1,170 feet per minute and has a g limit of +3.25.
