4.7/5 (12)

We are proud to bring the mythical Jaguar* to Flight Simulator, marking a historic moment as the first officially licensed Dassault* military aircraft ever developed for public flight simulation.

The SEPECAT Jaguar is an emblem born from a Franco-British cooperation, and left its mark on military aviation history with its sleek design and combat efficiency. It is a supersonic jet attack aircraft originally used by the British Royal Air Force and the French Air Force in the close air support and nuclear strike role, and exported to many countries. Its legacy endures through aircraft still in service in some air forces and its influence on the development of modern fighter jets.

This project is the result of over a year of dedicated development, pushing our standards higher than ever. We wanted to create the most accurate and immersive experience, staying true to its unique flight characteristics and operational feel. Throughout the journey, we have listened closely to the community, shaping the project based on your feedback.

As our community was very much in demand for the British GR1 variant, we developed a complete exterior model for this version in addition to the French Jaguar A.

This aircraft was initially developed as a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 add-on, but your enthusiasm convinced us to bring it to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 as well. This shift required a complete rethink of our approach, a challenge we fully embraced to ensure the Jaguar could thrive on this platform.

Features:

  • Highly detailed 3D model based on 3D scan
  • Ultra high resolution textures based on photoscan
  • Distinct exterior models for A and GR1 variants
  • 16 liveries including both versions
  • Immersive sound package crafted by Echo19
  • Bespoke AI (multiplayer) sounds
  • Initially planned for MSFS 2024, you will find countless small details scattered all around the aircraft
  • Various and settable payload, including static weapons
  • Flight model developed with the help of former Jaguar pilots
  • Fully animated cockpit, including all switches, buttons, breakers, mirrors, etc
  • Custom hydraulic system
  • Replicated fuel system with functional fuel transfer, fuel dumping and external tank implementation
  • Faithful electrical circuits with functional breakers
  • Radio-navigation capabilities (VOR, ILS, TACAN, GPS)
  • Sophisticated interior and exterior lighting
  • Operational heads up display (HUD)
  • Ground equipment including GPU and animated covers animated with relative wind
  • Highly detailed pilot model, optionally visible in cockpit view
  • Custom and natural pilot animations
  • Two helmet variants (Gallet LA100/Guenau 316)
  • Many custom-made effects (engine heat blur, afterburner, wingtip vortices)
  • Canopy can be jettisoned
  • Faithful wingflex animation
  • Functional autopilot
  • Custom EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) to manage numerous aircraft settings
  • GNS 430 and GTN 650 (TDS Sim & PMS50) units for GPS navigation
  • Interactive checklists with copilot actions
  • Comprehensive flight manual available on our website
  • Paintkit to download on our website

Please note that both A and GR1 variants share the same interior (cockpit) based on the Jaguar A. A specific GR1 cockpit may be considered in the future.

Some features initially developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are unavailable in this package. For a more immersive and detailed experience, feel free to take a look at our Flight Simulator 2024 Jaguar product. If you already purchased the product on Flight Simulator 2020, you will have the possibility to upgrade to the 2024 version for a small fee.

Please download the manual on our website to see all implemented features on both platforms.

Always aware of the room for improvement, periodic updates are already planned to improve the aircraft based on the feedback, do not hesitate to contact us.

The Jaguar A is a twin-engine, supersonic combat jet aircraft developed and manufactured by British-French aerospace company SEPECAT (Société Européenne de Production de l'avion Ecole de Combat et d'Appui Tactique). The company, a joint venture between the British Aircraft Corporation and Breguet, came together specifically to create the Jaguar.

The prototype of the Jaguar line took its maiden flight on September 8, 1968. SEPECAT developed more than 20 variants of the Jaguar, and it has been used by the militaries of six countries: the United Kingdom, France, Ecuador, Nigeria, Oman, and India. More than 570 were manufactured during a production run that spanned from 1968 to 1981. The single-seat Jaguar A is an all-weather strike and surface attack variant of the Jaguar. It is the first production version of the aircraft, and it was used by the French Air Force beginning in 1973.

The Jaguar traces its lineage to the early 1960s when the British and French militaries each created a requirement for a next-generation, multi-role combat jet aircraft. Both countries needed a platform that could serve the needs of advanced combat training and perform several tactical roles. After the Jet’s successful first flight, SEPECAT went on to produce several variants, both single-seat and two-seat models. The Jaguar served in several conflicts and undertook numerous mission sets, including training, air superiority, ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) data collections, interceptor, attack, light bombing, and close air support.

The SEPECAT Jaguar A features a high-mounted, swept main wing, a traditional empennage, and a retractable tricycle undercarriage. It has seven hardpoints that can be fitted with air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, bombs (both conventional and nuclear), rocket pods, and external fuel tanks.

The jet measures 55 feet, 3 inches in length, stands 16 feet, 1 inch tall, and has a wingspan of 28 feet, 6 inches. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour Mk. 102 afterburning turbofan engines that each produce up to 5,110 pounds of thrust in military power and up to 7,300 pounds of thrust with full afterburner.

The Jaguar A has a maximum range of 1,180 miles, a service ceiling of 46,000 feet above sea level, and a maximum speed of 840 miles per hour (Mach 1.1) at sea level and 1,050 miles per hour (Mach 1.6) at 36,000 feet above sea level.
