ATEAASCENDENCE

0/5 (0)

Ascendance Flight Technologies unveiled the Atea as their groundbreaking solution for the future of sustainable urban air mobility, marking a bold step forward in aviation innovation.

This next-generation Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft features a sleek carbon-composite airframe, advanced aerodynamics, and a hybrid propulsion system that combines thermal and electric engines. Designed to reduce noise and emissions, the Atea sets a new standard for sustainable flight. With seating for up to 4 passengers and a range of up to 248 miles, the Atea offers versatility for urban and regional missions alike.

The Atea's hybrid propulsion system ensures outstanding performance, reliability, and efficiency. Its panoramic canopy provides unparalleled visibility, while the intuitive avionics suite simplifies operation, making it ideal for modern air mobility applications. Whether navigating bustling cityscapes or exploring remote areas, the Atea redefines flight with its cutting-edge design and commitment to sustainability.

As a visionary VTOL aircraft, the Atea delivers on the promise of eco-friendly aviation, embodying Ascendance Flight Technologies' mission to revolutionize air travel for a cleaner, quieter, and more connected world.

The Atea is a tandem-wing, multi-use, advanced electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developed by French aviation firm Ascendance Flight Technologies. Piloted by one, the Atea can accommodate up to four passengers or 882 pounds of payload. The aircraft’s revolutionary and versatile design enables it to support a wide spectrum of applications, including urban air mobility (air taxi), air ambulance, logistics, search and rescue, scientific research support, law enforcement, general surveillance, light air cargo, and military.

The Atea features advanced composite construction for light weight and high strength. Engineers at Ascendance developed a revolutionary design to optimize the Atea’s versatility that comprises a tandem-wing design, a swept T-tail empennage, and ten thrust points. For vertical lift, eight intra-wing mounted fans provide thrust (four per wing), and two propeller systems, one on the aircraft’s nose and one on its empennage, provide horizontal thrust. The Atea boasts advanced avionics and flight controls and has a high-visibility cockpit and cabin.

Efficient and environmentally considerate operation is integral to the Ascendance mission for Atea. The aircraft is 75 percent quieter than helicopters with comparable lift capability and Ascendance developed a unique power and propulsion system used in the airframe, Sterna. Sterna comprises a high-performance battery system, a ground plug-in recharger, and on-demand, onboard electrical generation through conventional fuels. This allows the Atea to launch and land vertically using battery power and cruise horizontally under high-efficiency traditional-fuel power.

The quiet, efficient, and versatile Atea has a maximum range of 249 miles and a top speed of 124 miles per hour. Due to its vertical take-off and landing capability, it can operate out of virtually any aircraft facility as well as improvised operating zones.
