The 767-300ER GE is a twin-engine, wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by American aircraft producer Boeing and powered by General Electric high-bypass turbofan engines. The -300ER took its maiden flight on December 9, 1986 and it entered service on March 3, 1988. It has served primarily as an airliner, but has also been produced as a freighter, the 767-300F. Some 767-300ERs have been used as both passenger aircraft and cargo haulers, colloquially termed “preighters.” The 767-300ER, with nearly 600 manufactured, is the most success-ful of the 767 line.

The lineage of the 767-300ER dates to the late 1970s with the launch of Boeing’s 7X7. This program was initiated to replace narrow-body airliners with a larger, more modern airframe. The prototype took its first flight on September 26, 1981 and the first production iteration, the 767-200, entered service on September 8, 1982. The first stretched version of the jet, the 767-300, entered service in 1986. Boeing then followed this with the extended range 767-300ER.

The -300ER GE is crewed by two and can carry up to 351 passengers, although it can accommodate up to 290 in typical configurations. It measures 180 feet, 3 inches in length and has a wingspan of 156 feet, 1 inch. It is powered by two General Electric CF6 high-bypass turbofan engines that generate up to 61,500 pounds of thrust each. It has a range of 6,882 miles, a service ceiling of 43,100 feet above sea level, and it cruises at up to 559 miles per hour.
