The B55 is a twin-engine, unpressurized, light utility aircraft with seating for up to six, including pilot(s). It first flew in 1960, with the B55 variant entering production in 1969 and continuing through the early 1980s.

The B55 has earned a strong reputation for performance, reliability, and handling, making it a favorite among private owners, flight schools, and light commercial operators. The airframe is an all-metal construction featuring a low-wing monoplane design, a conventional tail assembly, and a retractable tricycle landing gear.

The B55 measures 28 feet in length, stands 9 feet, 7 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 37 feet, 10 inches. It is powered by two 260-horsepower, 6-cylinder piston engines, each driving a 3-blade, constant-speed propeller.

The aircraft has a range of approximately 900 nautical miles, a service ceiling of 19,300 feet above sea level, and a climb rate of 1,700 feet per minute.
