TWIN TRAINER

4.1/5 (2234)

One of the best twin-engine trainers available anywhere. This light aircraft exceeds expectations with its reliability and durability.

Seminole is one of the tamest, friendliest light twins ever built making it very appropriate for learning to fly twins. Many pilots have trained in the Seminole for decades.

The secret to the Seminole’s success is its counterrotating propellers. Since left and right propellers spin in opposite directions, the adverse aerodynamic effects of a failed engine are reduced because there’s no “critical engine."

Twin engine, four seats, 360 HP (180 HP each engine), cruise speed of 160 KTS and a maximum range of 915 NM are its main features.

Features

  • Default GNS530.

  • Realistic flight dynamics compared to the real airplane. Realistic weight and balance. Tested by several pilots for maximum accuracy.
  • Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials and textures.
  • PBR materials authored with industry-standard software used by the film and gaming industries.
  • Tablet interface for controlling static elements, pilots, opening doors, etc.; and starting options such as cold and dark and ready to taxi.

The Piper PA-44 Seminole is a low-wing, twin-engine light aircraft renowned throughout the aviation world as exceptionally forgiving and easy to fly, making it a favorite among flight schools and popular with general aviation pilots.

Piper developed the PA-44 based off the general design features of their single-engine PA-28R Arrow, seeking to debut a light four-place twin as a less-expensive alternative to their PA-39 Twin Comanche and PA-40 Arapaho. They added dual motors, a new T-tail empennage, and semi-tapered wings to the Arrow’s form to create one of aviation’s true standouts.

The powerplants, Lycoming flat-four piston engines, impart the Seminole with speed, performance, and range. The counter-rotating configuration of the two-blade, full-feathering propellers makes the PA-44 easy to control during an engine failure, a key performance attribute of the Seminole that flight trainers covet for emergency drills for students.

The Piper PA-44 provides aviators with a flight experience packed with performance backed by resiliency and composure. Its design, power, and advanced avionics impart speed and nimbleness, yet provide a cushion of positive control during the most harrowing of moments at the edge of flight. The Seminole is equally suited for a casual trip from one city to another, an energetic jaunt above the clouds, or as a training launch point replete with a full spectrum of critical scenarios practiced to someday command one of the largest multi-engine behemoths in modern aviation.
