CowanSim 222B - Elegance Meets Performance

Introducing the CowanSim 222B, a twin-engine helicopter crafted for precision, comfort, and versatility. With both luxury and medical (HEMS) configurations included, the 222B is built to adapt to any mission while delivering a true-to-life flying experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The 222B was refined through countless hours of feedback, coding, and testing to achieve the highest level of realism possible. Every detail, from startup procedure and the new auto pilot system was carefully crafted. Persistence systems ensure your weight, balance, and custom options carry over from flight to flight, and customizable throttle and idle stop bindings give you full control.

Comprehensive manuals, hardware binding guides, and online checklists are included for both PC and Xbox users: https://CowanSim.com/manuals-checklists/

The CowanSim 222B combines the refinement of a twin-engine executive helicopter with utility and versatility. Built with precision. Tuned for realism. Ready for your next mission.

The 222B is a twin-engine light utility helicopter by American rotorcraft producer Bell Helicopter and is the second iteration in the 222 line. The first of the lineage, the 222, took its maiden flight on August 13, 1976 and was introduced in 1979. The family of helicopters evolved from the company’s initiative to meet identified needs for a robust business and general utility helicopter. The 222B, more powerful than the first variant due to a larger main rotor system and higher output engines, first took to the sky in 1982 and saw initial deliveries that same year. Bell Helicopter produced a total of 26 of the 222B model from 1982 to 1987.

The Bell 222B is crewed by one or two and can accommodate a total of up to nine, including pilot(s), depending on cabin configuration. It has an overall length of 50 feet, 3 inches and features a retractable undercarriage and sponsons that house its main landing gear. The 222B uses a 2-blade, semi-rigid main rotor system that has a diameter of 42 feet, and a 2-blade anti-torque tail rotor.

The craft is powered by two Lycoming LTS101-750C-1 turboshaft engines that produce up to 684 horsepower. It has a range of 430 miles and can cruise at 155 miles pre hour. The helicopter can clime at a rate of 1,730 feet per minute, has a service ceiling of 15,800 feet above sea level, and it can hover up to an altitude of 10,300 feet.

The 222B is one of Bell Helicopter’s most legendary models due to its pilot-friendly flight deck and features such as retractable landing gear. Rotary wing pilots cherish their time on the stick of the 222B due to its power and aerial finesse throughout a range of altitudes and conditions.
