CowanSim 222UT - Elegance Meets Performance

Introducing the CowanSim 222UT, a twin-engine helicopter crafted for precision, comfort, and versatility. With both luxury and medical (HEMS) configurations included, the 222UT is built to adapt to any mission while delivering a true-to-life flying experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The 222UT was refined through countless hours of feedback, coding, and testing to achieve the highest level of realism possible. Every detail, from startup procedure and the new auto pilot system was carefully crafted. Persistence systems ensure your weight, balance, and custom options carry over from flight to flight, and customizable throttle and idle stop bindings give you full control.

Comprehensive manuals, hardware binding guides, and online checklists are included for both PC and Xbox users: https://CowanSim.com/manuals-checklists/

The CowanSim 222UT combines the refinement of a twin-engine executive helicopter with utility and versatility. Built with precision. Tuned for realism. Ready for your next mission.

The 222UT is a twin-engine helicopter designed and built by Bell Helicopter of the United States. It is based on the company’s 222B model, itself a development of the 222.

Bell Helicopter developed the 222 line in the 1970s to meet a need for a larger, more robust rotorcraft than was available at the time, primarily to serve the commercial and business markets. The debut craft of the family, the 222, made its first flight on August of 1976 and became available commercially in 1979. The slightly more powerful 222B followed, and the UT, the “Utility Twin,” was then released. The primary difference between the UT and the B is the replacement of the B model’s retractable landing gear with a tubular skid undercarriage. The change lightens the gross weight of the UT compared to its predecessor and provides more room for auxiliary fuel tanks, extending range. The 222UT took its first flight on September 7, 1982 and delivers began a year later. Bell produced a total of 80 during the Utility Twin’s production run, which lasted until 1989.

The Bell 222UT is piloted by one or two and can accommodate a total of up to nine people, including crew. It measures 50 feet, 3 inches in length, has a 2-blade, semi-rigid main rotor system that has a diameter of 42 feet, and a has a 2-blade anti-torque tail rotor.

The 222UT is powered by two Lycoming LTS101-750C-1 turboshaft engines that produce up to 684 horsepower. It has a range of 560 miles, cruises at 155 miles pre hour, and can hover up to an altitude of 10,300 feet above sea level. The helicopter can clime at a rate of 1,730 feet per minute and has a service ceiling of 15,800 feet.

The 222UT is one of the rotorcraft world’s great utility workhorses. Pilots of all skill levels appreciate the twin’s power and control, thanks to the dual engines and careful engineering of this classic.
