The Cicaré 8R is a kit-built, two-seat, ultralight helicopter developed by Argentine rotorcraft producer Cicaré S.A. The 8R is an engine-specific variant of the base model of the helicopter, the Cicaré 8. The company based the design of the Cicaré 8 on their Cicaré 7, a kit-built light helicopter available as a single-seat model and a tandem two-seat version. The Cicaré 8 took its maiden flight in 2013 and it was introduced in 2014.

The Cicaré 8R has a fuselage comprising a steel-framed, bulbous cockpit and a strut-braced tube tail boom. The cockpit features carbon fiber composite construction, side-by-side seating, and an intuitive instrument layout. It has a high-visibility canopy and fixed skids for landing gear.

The helicopter’s main rotor system is a 2-blade, teetering, semi-rigid design with composite construction and it uses a 2-blade anti-torque tail rotor assembly. The Cicaré 8R measures 22 feet, 8 inches in length, stands 8 feet, 10 inches tall, and has a main rotor diameter of 21 feet. It is powered by a single Rotax 915 iS 4-cylinder piston engine that generates up to 141 horsepower. It has an endurance of 2 hours, 42 minutes, a service ceiling of 10,000 feet above sea level, and a climb rate of 2,000 feet per minute. It has an out-of-ground effect hover ceiling of 6,000 feet above sea level and it cruises at 92 miles per hour.
