"The S-6S Coyote II is a single-engine, 2-seat, light sport aircraft created by American aviation company Rans Designs. The aircraft traces its roots to the single-seat S-4 Coyote and its sibling the S-5 Coyote, both introduced in the early 1980s. The S-6, developed from the S-4 and S-5, took its maiden flight in 1988. The S-6ES, an extended wingspan variant of the S-6, debuted in 1990. The S-6S, also called the “Super Coyote,” is an evolution of the S-6ES and was introduced in 1993. The S-6S was made available as both factory complete and as a kit.

The S-6S Coyote II is renowned for its sturdiness and resiliency, forgivingness in the air, agility at low speeds, and its short take-off and landing prowess. The aircraft’s internal framing consists of aluminum and welded steel tubing and it is covered in fabric. It features a high-mounted, strut-braced, rectangular main wing and a standard empennage. It has an enclosed cockpit with side-by-side seating and a fixed traditional undercarriage. It can accommodate tundra tires for backcountry and unimproved airstrips, skis for snow and glacier operations, and floats for water operations. It is also available with tricycle landing gear.

The aircraft measures 20 feet in length, stands 9 feet tall, and has a wingspan of 34 feet, 6 inches. It is powered by either a 2-cylinder Rotax 503 piston engine that generates up to 52 horsepower, a 2-cylinder Rotax 582 piston engine that generates up to 65 horsepower, a 4-cylinder Rotax 912 piston engine that generates up to 80 horsepower, or a 4-cylinder Rotax 912S that generates up to 100 horsepower. It typically uses either a 2-blade or a 3-blade propeller.

The S-6S Coyote II has an endurance of up to 4.5 hours, a cruise speed of up to 100 miles per hour, and a range of up to 440 miles. "
