The iconic JetRanger made its first flight on December 8th 1962, and was released to commercial operators on January 10th 1966. The final 206 B3 was introduced in 1977 and produced until 2010, with running changes over its lifespan, and variants built under license in many countries. The helicopter has served in a number of capacities, notably news coverage, tourism, agricultural spraying and exploration, and commercial support of industries such as petroleum production. The JetRanger III is a true standout among the renowned and extensive family of 206 aircraft. A rugged utility machine at its core, pilots are treated to an exceptionally robust aircraft, precise in its controls, and legendary reliability. With an exemplary record, the 206 fleet has accumulated over 38 million flight hours.

The 206B-3 JetRanger III is a single-engine, two-blade utility helicopter produced by American aviation firm Bell Helicopter. The JetRanger III was introduced in 1977, replacing the 206B-2 JetRanger II, and was made until 2010. The 206B-3 was the most produced model in all of the 206 family, with 2,478 models manufactured. The helicopter has served in a number of capacities, notably news coverage, tourism, and general commercial support of industries such as petroleum production.

The JetRanger III measures 31 feet, 2 inches in length, 9 feet, 6 inches in width, and has seating for five: one pilot and four passengers. It is a tailrotor style helicopter, with a main rotor system and an anti-torque tail rotor. Its main rotor system has a diameter of 33 feet, 4 inches. The JetRanger III uses skids for landing gear.

The helicopter is powered by a single Allison 250-C20B turboshaft engine that delivers up to a rated 317 horsepower for take-off and 270 hp for continuous flight. The helicopter cruises at 130 miles per hour, has a maximum speed of 136 mph, and a ceiling of 13,500 feet above sea level.
