B-47G-2A1

FlyInside Inc.

HELICOPTERPISTON

3.2/5 (475)

The groundbreaking B-47 took its first flight on December 8, 1945 and became the first helicopter certified for civilian use on March 8, 1946. The 47 has been used for flight training, crop-dusting, by the military, and even by NASA. The 47 makes for a beautiful low-and-slow VFR aircraft, providing excellent views out of its giant bubble canopy.

The most realistic helicopter experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator, the FlyInside 47G-2A1 features completely custom flight dynamics that are sure to challenge you. Thanks to our built-in configuration screen, the 47 can be tuned to fly as easily or as realistically as you'd like, on the fly.

NOTE for XBOX USERS: Due to the custom flight model, this helicopter does not support the DEFAULT Tail Rotor bindings. Instead, be sure to bind something to the classic Rudder binding for yaw control. In order to fly this helicopter to its full potential, we recommend using a dedicated joystick. Otherwise, try setting the flight model to Easy mode.

Features:

  • Revolutionary and realistic flight model, developed and tested by an experienced 47 pilot
  • Support for full helicopter flight physics including effective translational lift, ground effect, transverse flow, flap-back, auto-rotation, and more
  • Support for failures and dangerous regions of the flight envelope including vortex ring state, engine failure, and retreating blade stall
  • Extremely detailed 3D model with high quality PBR textures and animated drive and control systems
  • Realistically modeled engine parameters, including full start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Highly customizable realism settings allow for a smooth, easier flight model for those who are less experienced, and a hardcore, realistic flight model for the veterans experienced with the complex and challenging flight dynamics of helicopters
  • Includes a capable IFR cockpit, and a classic VFR cockpit
  • Land on water with optional floats version
  • Physics-based ground handling with support for running take-offs and landings

Interior Features:

  • Detailed 3D cockpit model (with optional IFR navigation stack)
  • 100% operational switches, levers, and gauges
  • Removeable doors
  • Realistic night-lighting
  • High-quality sound design

Exterior Features:

  • Beautiful exterior model
  • Fully modeled engine
  • Animated mechanics including swashplate, rotor-head linkages, tail torque shaft, and more
  • Functional lights and beacons
  • Ten distinct liveries

The 47G is a single-engine, two-blade helicopter produced by Bell Aircraft of the United States. The groundbreaking 47G took its first flight on December 8, 1945 and became the first helicopter certified for civilian use in March of 1946. More than 5,000 units of the 47G were produced, making it one of the most noteworthy of rotary wing aircraft in aviation history. It was used by the military, by NASA, and, in 1958, was the first helicopter to fly a television news crew.

The Bell 47G, which can accommodate one pilot and one passenger, has a distinctive profile comprising a bubble canopy and a lattice tail boom. It’s powered by a six-cylinder Lycoming TVO-435-F1A engine that produces 280 horsepower that turns its main rotor system and tail rotor.

The 47G has a range of 246 miles, a top speed of 105 miles per hour, and it cruises at 84 mph. It climbs at 860 feet per minute and has a ceiling of 10,000 feet.

An icon of aviation, the Bell 47G was one of the great pioneers of rotary wing flight. Pilots who take the helm of this helicopter immediately recognize the enduring significance of this craft, and push its reputation forward with each flight.
