Presenting the Taylorcraft BC-12D, the new flagship aircraft from Got Friends and the culmination of everything our team has learned in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developed as our final aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, the Taylorcraft is our love letter to the platform that started this journey and a showcase of the detail, personality and craftsmanship that define our team.

More than anything, we wanted the Taylorcraft to feel alive.

We worked directly with experienced Taylorcraft pilots, derived our flight models from real-world performance data, captured authentic sound recordings from real aircraft, and recreated 20 unique liveries inspired by real-world examples. That same approach extends throughout the aircraft model, from the fabric and hardware to the mechanical details hidden throughout the cockpit, engine bay and exterior.

The Taylorcraft rewards close inspection. Open the cowlings, inspect the engine, look beneath the seats, follow the structure around the cabin, or move closer to the fabric and hardware and there is always another detail to discover. Every nook and cranny has something to enjoy.

Once the aircraft starts moving, those details begin moving with you. Our Reactive Motion system drives hundreds of interior and exterior components using live aircraft telemetry. Engine vibration travels through the airframe, suspension compresses beneath you, fuel moves inside the tanks, and cabin accessories, doors, latches and controls respond dynamically to turbulence, slips, landings and inversions.

The Got Friends Craft Pad gives you 100+ customization options to make the Taylorcraft your own. Configure instrumentation, avionics, exterior equipment, accessories, registrations, loadouts, visual details and simulation preferences. Keep it period-correct, build a modern touring setup, create a backcountry machine, or add the little details that give your aircraft its own personality.

Four realized variants take the Taylorcraft into different environments. Fly the Classic on 17" wheels, explore rough terrain with the Backcountry on 26" tires, operate from snow-covered landscapes with the Winter ski variant, or leave conventional runways behind with the Seafarer on floats. Each includes dedicated equipment, engine configurations, physics and operating characteristics.

The BC-12D is a single-engine, 2-seat, high wing monoplane developed and manufactured by American aviation producer Taylorcraft Aircraft. The model, the full name of which is the BC-12D Twosome, is a variant of the Taylorcraft B, which was developed, prototyped, and introduced in the late 1930s. Several iterations followed, including the popular BC-12D Twosome, which Taylorcraft introduced in 1945 at the end of World War II.

The BC-12D features a fuselage constructed of welded steel tubing and covered in doped aircraft fabric. Its main wing and empennage are also fabric covered. It has a high-mounted, strut-braced main wing, a standard empennage, and a fixed standard undercarriage. It has side-by-side seating and panel-mounted control wheels.

The aircraft measures 21 feet, 10 inches in length, stands 8 feet high, and has a wingspan of 36 feet. It is powered by a Continental piston engine that turns a 2-blade, fixed-pitch, metal propeller. It has a maximum range of 375 miles and a service ceiling of 17,000 feet above sea level. It cruises at 95 miles per hour, stalls at 38 mph, and has a top speed of 105 mph.
