The Bone is an American 4-engine, supersonic, strategic bomber. Initially designed to carry both conventional and nuclear weapons, the bomber has been limited to conventional munitions since 1994.

The Bone features a variable geometry wing that is deftly incorporated into a blended wing fuselage. This design enables the unique combination of supersonic flight, low-speed maneuverability, and high payload. The main wing extends for take-off, landing, and low-speed maneuvering, and it sweeps back for high-speed flight. Avionics and flight controls allow several mission profiles, including high-speed, high-altitude, long-range missions and terrain-following, nap-of-the-earth operations to penetrate enemy radar defenses.

The Bone measures 146 feet in length and stands 34 feet tall. It has an extended wingspan of 137 feet and a swept wingspan of 79 feet. It is powered by four afterburning turbofan engines that each deliver up to 17,390 pounds of thrust in military power and up to 30,780 pounds with afterburner. The Bone is crewed by four: an aircraft commander, a copilot, and two combat systems officers. It has a range of 7,480 miles, a service ceiling of 60,000 feet above sea level, a climb rate of 5,678 feet per minute, and a top speed of Mach 1.25.
