GLIDERAEROBATICSSMOKECUSTOM SOUNDSASK 21

5/5 (7)

The ASK 21 is a popular German two-seater glider, first built in 1979. It is primarily used for beginner instruction and aerobatics training, as well as for transitioning pilots from older wooden gliders like the K 8 to modern single-seat composite gliders. Capable of withstanding g-loads of +6.5 and -4G, it has a maximum speed of 280 km/h. Despite not having the best glide ratio, it is appreciated for its well-balanced handling and safety. The ASK 21 is a well-constructed and robust glider with forgiving flight characteristics.

This simulator version aims to replicate the real aircraft as accurately as possible, featuring authentic custom sounds, a fine-tuned aerobatics-capable flight model, and stunning visuals. Developed in collaboration with real ASK 21 pilots and "B21", the f7 Simulations K21 strives to be one of the the most authentic glider available for flight simulators.

The ASK 21 is a two-seat sailplane developed primarily for basic glider instruction. It has also proven to be an exceptional full spectrum soaring aircraft usable for cross-country flights and aerobatics. The ASK 21 took its maiden flight in February of 1979 and was introduced later that year.

The ASK 21 features glass-reinforced plastic construction. It has a wing that provides high performance and maintains a level of forgivingness comfortable for student pilots. It is a go-to aircraft for training, thermal and ridge lift soaring, and basic aerobatics.

The ASK 21 features tandem seating, a T-tail empennage, and a low-profile, midline wheeled landing gear system. It measures 27 feet, 5 inches in length and stands just over 5 feet in height. Its wing has a 16:1 aspect ratio and a span of 55 feet, 9 inches. The wing features speed brakes but no flaps. The ASK 21 has a maximum glide ratio of 34:1 (in ideal air conditions) and a sink rate of 126 feet per minute. It has a stall speed of 40 miles per hour, an absolute never exceed speed of 170 mph, and it can handle up to +6.5 gs.
