4.8/5 (108)

Following on from their award-winning 146 Professional for MSFS, the Just Flight in-house team has developed this high fidelity simulation of the F28 regional jet following comprehensive, hands-on research with a real world aircraft, ex-PH-CHN at AM&TS (Curio) Woensdrecht.

Just Flight are excited to bring you all four production variants of the F28: the Mk 1000 to the Mk 4000. Announced in 1962, the F28 Mk 1000 first flew in 1967 and entered airline service in 1969. The Mk 2000, 3000 and 4000 variants followed in the 1970s and featured increases in fuselage length and wingspan. Production ended in 1987 with a total of 241 aircraft built. The aircraft proved to be popular and entered airline service with a large selection of airlines from all around the world. A small number of military operators still operate the type into the mid-2020s.

Model

  • Incredibly detailed exterior and interior models of the Mk.1000, Mk.2000, Mk.3000 and Mk.4000 variants with 4K textures (8K cockpit textures available as a separate download for PC users) for the highest possible texture detail and clarity.
  • A highly detailed and accessible passenger cabin with forward galley functionality. including fully interactable forward galley controls for passenger and service door operation, passenger door jetway conversion, cabin lights, cabin-to-cockpit calls, cabin temperature and even a music system!
  • Realistic animations include dynamic wing-flex, all passenger, service and cargo doors, and the distinctive lift dumpers and tail-mounted airbrake.
  • Custom ground equipment including chocks, cones and a GPU.
  • Highly immersive exterior and interior lighting, including dimmable red and white cockpit lighting, dimmable cabin lighting including integral airstairs lighting and rotating beacons on the exterior.

Cockpit

  • A true to life representation of the F28 cockpit environment down to accurately modelled screws, seat belts and wires. All instruments are constructed fully in 3D with smooth animations throughout.
  • An EFB provides various aircraft options such as the ability to open and close doors, set the fuel and payload, a notes page, and a top of descent calculator, plus full Navigraph charts and SimBrief flight plan functionality.
  • Automatic aircraft configuration options will get you airborne in seconds.
  • Support for most native MSFS features, such as both Cockpit Interactive System modes (Xbox Controller support), VR support, and fully interactive checklists.

Custom-coded aircraft systems

  • Complex and custom-coded systems based on real-world flight manuals and extensive input from real-life F28 aircrew and engineers.
  • Full system functionality for the normal operations for all systems in the cockpit, including anti-icing, electrical, fuel, hydraulic. landing gear and pressurisation systems.
  • Full system functionality for alternate operations for all systems, such as a fully simulated flight control system with three modes of operation depending on the status of the hydraulic pumps. The aircraft flies significantly differently with no hydraulic power!
  • A fully simulated SEP 6 autopilot system with vertical and horizontal modes of operation and a completely independent flight director system.
  • An option to fit the Working Title GNS530 GPS unit with MSFS Main Menu flight plan support.
  • Realistic engine simulation including accurate starting procedures and operating numbers, plus a fully simulated Top Temperature Control (TTC) and Thrust Index engine management systems.

Sounds

  • Native (Wwise) sound package taking full advantage of the new MSFS capabilities.
  • Studio quality Spey Mk555-15 engine noise recorded from the real aircraft.
  • Hundreds of flight deck sound effects recorded from the real aircraft.
  • Pilot and cabin announcements, including co-pilot callouts.
  • Details equipment audio such as the APU, electrical circuits, hydraulic pumps, flap motors, and much more.

The F-28 Fellowship is a family of twin-engine regional jet airliners produced by Fokker of the Netherlands. The operational variants of the Fellowship are the -1000, -2000, -3000, and the -4000. The prototype of the first of the lineage, the F-28-1000, took its maiden flight on May 9, 1967, and the first production airframe entered service on March 28, 1969. The Fellowship line was produced from 1967 to 1987. A total of 241 units were manufactured, and they served civilian airlines of nearly three dozen countries as well as the militaries of Argentina, Turkey, Colombia, and Malaysia, and others. While most F-28s are out of service, the small jetliner built a strong legacy of success in the short-haul marketplace throughout the globe.

Each jet in the family is powered by two Rolls Royce Spey turbofan engines that each produce up to 9,850 pounds of thrust. The airliner is crewed by two, and depending on specific iteration and seating arrangement, carries from 65 to 85 passengers. All can take-off with just 5,500 feet of runway roll, have ranges from 1,036 to 1,784 miles, and cruise from 407 miles per hour to 413 mph.
