4.4/5 (223)

This highly detailed simulation of the PA-28R Turbo Arrow III and Arrow IV has been developed by Just Flight's in-house team following comprehensive, hands-on research with a real-life Turbo Arrow.

The Turbo Arrow III and IV are four seater, turbocharged piston-engine aircraft equipped with a retractable tricycle landing gear and constant-speed propeller – ideal for touring and instrument training.

Model

  • PA-28R-201T Turbo Arrow III and PA-28RT-201T Turbo Arrow IV, built using real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft
  • Numerous animations including passenger and baggage door, storm window, sun visors and oil cover
  • Ground equipment including chocks, tie-downs and pushback towbar
  • 4096x4096 textures for the highest possible texture clarity
  • PBR materials with real-time environment reflections for superb quality and realism
  • Detailed normal mapping for down-to-the-rivet precision of aircraft surfaces
  • MSFS visual icing effects and ground services

Cockpit

  • A truly 3D virtual cockpit right down to accurately modelled seat belts and screw heads - every instrument is constructed fully in 3D
  • Cockpit textures feature wear and tear based on the real aircraft to produce an authentic environment, with optional ‘clean’ textures for a less worn look
  • Dimmable instrument, radio and dome lighting, with separate control circuits
  • Tablet EFB for controlling various aircraft options, and checking aircraft and flight information:
    • 'Cold & Dark', 'Ready for Take-off' and ‘Ready for Start’ aircraft states
    • Persistent aircraft states, allowing you to return to your cockpit in the same state that you last left it
    • Automatic switching of the fuel tanks for use on long distance cross-country flights
    • GPS unit selection
    • Direction Indicator (DI) or Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) instrument options
    • Aircraft failures
    • Door controls
    • Flight computer with useful information such as fuel burn, endurance, speed and wind speed/direction
  • Fully-functional IFR capable avionics fit including:
    • KMA 20 audio selector unit
    • KX 170B COM 1 / NAV 1 radio
    • KX 175B COM 2 / NAV 2 radio
    • KN 62 DME unit which can display information from NAV 1, NAV 2 or its own inbuilt receiver (NAV 3)
    • Piper Autocontrol IIIB autopilot unit with navigation, heading and roll hold (altitude hold clickspot included)
    • KT 76A transponder unit
    • KR 85 ADF unit with ADF/ANT/BFO modes and support for fractional frequencies, e.g. 383.3
    • GPS 100, GNS 430/530, GTN 750 (PMS-50 or TDS GTN required, PC only)
    • HSI/OBS support RNAV approach indications

Aircraft systems

  • Engine turbocharger fixed wastegate and overboost simulation (progressive engine failure due to overboost if wastegate fails, with EFB controls for monitoring and resetting engine damage/failure)
  • Custom-coded fuel system including the option to have automatic switching of the fuel tanks for use on those long distance cross-country flights
  • Custom-coded electrical system with functional circuit breakers
  • Realistic landing gear system with emergency and automatic release at low airspeeds
  • Failures including spark plug fowling, limited battery life, vapor lock and more
  • Lighting system includes separate lighting control for instruments (via rheostat) and realistic implementation of navigation/radio light rheostat
  • Many other details, such as a passenger door that automatically closes with airflow and vibrating engine exhausts!
  • MSFS checklists (manual and automatic/co-pilot modes)

Other

  • Realistic and accurate flight dynamics based on real world performance and handling data, and input from Arrow pilots
  • Authentic Continental TSIO-360 sound-set developed using the powerful new Wwise sound system, with custom sounds for all switches, doors, gear warnings and more, and even panel rattles!
  • Comprehensive manual with panel guide and performance data
  • PSD Paint Kit

The PA-28 Turbo Arrow III and the PA-28 Turbo Arrow IV are two notable members of the highly successful Arrow lineage of light airplanes by American aviation producer Piper Aircraft. The Arrow group of airplanes evolved out of Piper’s highly successful Cherokee family, the notable difference between the two being that Arrows have retractable tricycle landing gear, and Cherokee models have fixed gear.

The Turbo Arrow III and IV feature all-metal construction, a slightly-tapered main wing with a span of 35 feet, 6 inches, and turbocharged reciprocating engines that produce 200 horsepower from sea level to their critical altitude of 12,000 feet. Each has a service ceiling of 20,000 feet.

The notable difference between the Turbo Arrow III and the Turbo Arrow IV is that the III sports a traditional tail unit and the IV has a T-form empennage.

Both are renowned performers and have eye-catching sleek lines and overall form. These are great models for newly-minted pilots looking for the extra performance of aircraft that are turbocharged and have retractable gear, yet maintain a level forgivingness in flight.
