Black Square's TBM 850 brings you one of the most technically advanced aircraft simulations for Microsoft Flight Simulator, with nearly 100 possible failures, including new turbine engine failures, hot-swappable radio configurations and the most advanced pressurisation and cabin temperature simulations in MSFS.

Black Square's new tablet interface lets you configure all options, manage payload, control failures, and monitor engines, electrical schematics, and environmental control systems, all from within the simulator. The failure system allows for persistent wear, MTBF and scheduled failures for nearly every component in the aircraft, many with multiple different failure modes. Experience real-world failures from popular YouTube videos, including generator failure, propeller governor failure, fuel control failure and compressor surging.

The 3D gauges are modelled and coded to meticulously match their real-world counterparts, with reference to real-world manuals. No piece of equipment appears in a Black Square aircraft without a real-world unit as reference. Radionavigation systems are available from several eras of the aircraft's history, so users can fly without GPS via a Bendix KNS-80 RNAV system, or with the convenience of a Garmin GTN 750 (PMS50 or TDS). Other radio equipment includes EFS 40 EADI & EHSI, KX-155 NAV/COM radios, dual GNS 530, KR 87 ADF, KDI 572 DME, GTX 327 Transponder, and a Bendix RDR1150XL Weather Radar.

A 160+ page manual provides instruction on all equipment and 55 in-game checklists with control/instrument highlighting are included for normal and emergency procedures.

The TBM 850 is a single-engine, high-performance, turboprop-powered utility aircraft. Piloted by one or two, the 850 can seat up to six passengers. The airframe is an advanced, evolutionary iteration of the TBM line, the prototype of which took its maiden flight on July 14, 1988.

The first production version of the aircraft lineage, the TBM 700, debuted in 1990 and set new standards in its class. Subsequent years saw incremental advances in the TBM series, with the 850 earning the highest praise from pilots for its power, controllability, and forgivingness immediately after its 2006 release.

The TBM 850 features advanced composite and alloy construction and an aerodynamically optimized design. The aircraft’s low-mounted wing incorporates state-of-the-art airfoil profiles and winglets that mitigate wingtip vortices to maximize the aircraft’s power and overall efficiency. The cockpit boasts an advanced avionics suite comprising a spectrum of safety, pilot efficiency, and situational awareness systems.

The TBM 850 measures 35 feet in length, stands 14 feet, 3 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 41 feet, 6 inches. It is powered by a turboprop engine that delivers up to 850 shaft horsepower and turns a 5-blade constant-speed propeller.

The TBM 850 has a range of 1,750 miles, a service ceiling of 31,000 feet above sea level, a climb rate of 2,005 feet per minute, and a cruising speed of 364 miles per hour.
