The Corvette C8 is a two-seat, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car by American automobile manufacturer Chevrolet. The C8, which was introduced in February of 2020, is the first in the long and vaunted Corvette lineage to feature a mid-mounted engine. The vehicle’s styling and exceptional performance has earned it stellar marks from automobile industry professionals and consumers alike.

The Corvette C8 is constructed of aluminum and its body is formed to maximize aerodynamic performance by optimizing drag reduction. Its cockpit has been designed for maximum operator efficiency and safety, with critical controls easily accessible. Of particular note is the “Z button” mounted on the steering wheel which can be programmed for customized performance settings. The Z is a reference to Zora Arkus-Duntov, a Chevrolet engineer who played an important role in the development of the Corvette line of cars.

The vehicle is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine that delivers up to 490 horsepower and 465 foot-pounds of torque to an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The C8 can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, boasts an 11.8 second quarter-mile drag time, and has a top speed of 194 miles per hour.
