The A320 CEO is a twin-engine, narrow-body airliner produced by European consortium Airbus. Crewed by two, the single-aisle jetliner can accommodate up to 180 passengers, but typically carries between 140 to 170, depending on seating configuration. The A320 CEO (CEO designates “current engine option” and stands in contrast to the NEO, or “new engine option”) took its first flight on February 22, 1987 and was introduced in April, 1988.

The A320 CEO measures 123 feet, 3 inches in length, has a wingspan of 117 feet, 5 inches (including its high-efficiency sharklets), and features advanced digital flight controls and avionics. The airliner is powered by two International Aero Engines IAE V2500-A5 high-bypass turbofan engines that each produce up to 27,000 pounds of thrust. It has a range of 3,855 miles, cruises at 540 miles per hour, and has a service ceiling of 41,000 feet above sea level.

The Airbus A320 CEO is a classic machine that has proven to be a tried-and-true workhorse of the sky, hauling both passengers and freight. The aircraft’s flight control systems and well-balanced design provide a great piloting experience, one that many use as a stepping stone for larger, more complex aircraft.
