The Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing comes with an authentic cockpit with steam gauges and is available in 9 classic liveries that evoke memories of the Golden Era of Aviation, plus an Xbox, and Aviator’s Club version.

The Model 17, considered one of the most gorgeous aircraft ever designed and often referred to as the “Cadillac of the Sky,” is a single-engine biplane produced by American aircraft manufacturer Beechcraft. Initially created for business executives, with seating for up to four including its pilot, the Model 17 served a variety of civilian aviation needs and military applications during World War II. It took its first flight on November 4, 1932, and a total of 785 were produced between 1933 and 1949. Its form departs from other biplane configurations in that the lower wing is forward of the upper for visibility and performance reasons, hence the name “Staggerwing.”

The Model 17 features a cockpit that is sleekly blended with the fuselage between its two wings, a standard undercarriage, and a traditional tail unit. It measures 26 feet, 10 inches in length, has a wingspan of 32 feet, and is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney R-985 9-cylinder Wasp Junior radial engine that produces up to 450 horsepower.

The Model 17 boasts a top speed of 212 miles per hour, cruises at 202 mph, and has a range of 670 miles. The aircraft climbs at an impressive 1,500 feet per minute and has a service ceiling of 25,000 feet above sea level.

Beloved by pilots as one of the most beautiful aircraft ever produced, the Beechcraft Model 17 is unique in looks and bold in performance. With power to spare, aviators can roar to heights above the clouds, or take a leisurely cruise above the countryside.

The Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing comes with an authentic cockpit with steam gauges and is available in 9 classic liveries that evoke memories of the Golden Era of Aviation, plus an Xbox, and Aviator’s Club version.
