The PA-30 is a low-wing, twin-engine, piston-powered light aircraft that can seat up to six, including pilot. The aircraft was developed in the early 1960s in the United States to provide an aviation experience defined by speed, good range, great aerodynamic performance, and comfort.

The PA-30 features a low-mounted, cantilever main wing with a span of 36 feet, 10 inches, wingtip fuel tanks, retractable tricycle landing gear, and a standard empennage. It measures 25 feet, 2 inches in length and stands 8 feet, 3 inches tall. It is powered by two wing-mounted, 160-horsepower, flat-four piston engines; each motor turns a 2-blade, constant-speed propeller. The aircraft has an impressive range of 1,200 miles, notably due to its wingtip tanks. It has a service ceiling of 20,000 feet above sea level and climbs at 1,460 feet per minute. It has a take-off run of just 1,530 feet and it lands with a ground roll of 1,870 feet. The airplane stalls at 70 miles per hour, cruises at 178 mph, and has a top speed of 205 mph.
