The Boeing 737-300 was the first and most popular member of the Classic 737 family, marking a major step forward from the earlier 737-200. Featuring an extended fuselage, improved aerodynamics, and modernized systems, the 737-300 quickly became a workhorse for airlines around the world, perfectly suited for short- to medium-haul routes.

Powered by CFM56-3 turbofan engines, the aircraft introduced greater fuel efficiency, quieter operation, and reduced emissions, setting a new standard for narrow-body jets of its era. Its flight deck included the EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System), advanced autopilot functions, and optional Flight Management System (FMS), giving pilots more automation and situational awareness compared to earlier generations.

The 737-300 balanced passenger capacity, range, and efficiency, making it one of the most versatile and successful variants of the Classic series. With its robust performance, wide operator base, and enduring reliability, it became a cornerstone of global airline fleets for decades.

Designed for discerning simmers, the Boeing 737-300 Professional brings this legendary jetliner to life with unmatched realism and attention to detail, ensuring an immersive and authentic flight experience every time.

The 737-300 is a twin-engine, narrow-body commercial airliner developed and manufactured by American aerospace company Boeing. The -300 is the first and most numerously produced of the 737 Classic generation of the 737 family of airliners. It took its maiden flight on February 24, 1984 and entered service on November 28, 1984.

The story of the 737-300 began in the mid-1960s when Boeing sought to develop a family of economical jetliners for short-haul routes. The company based the new design, called the 737, in part on their successful 727, a 3-engine, narrow-body model. The initial iteration of the 737, the 737-100, took its maiden flight on April 9, 1967 and entered service on February 10, 1968. Boeing then introduced the next model on April 28, 1968, the 737-200, which is a 737-100 with a stretched fuselage. These first two 737s, which Boeing would call the “737 Original” generation, proved resoundingly successful.

Boeing then developed the second generation of the 737, which the company would call the “737 Classic.” The first member of this generation, the 737-300, incorporated several upgrades and changes over its predecessors, including more powerful and efficient engines, a lengthened fuselage, higher passenger capacity, increased wingspan, and aerodynamically optimized wingtips. Boeing manufactured a total of 1,113 of the popular 737-300 model over a production run that spanned from 1984 to 1999. Most 737-300s were used for passenger service, with some converted as cargo carriers, and many remain in service throughout the world. The company also produced the 737-400 and the 737-500 as part of the Classic generation.

The 737-300 is piloted by two and has a maximum single-class passenger capacity of 149. It measures 109 feet, 7 inches in length, stands 36 feet, 6 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 94 feet, 9 inches. It is powered two CFM International CFM56-3B1 high-bypass turbofan engines, each of which generates up to 20,000 pounds of thrust.

The 737-300 has a range of 2,612 miles, a service ceiling of 37,000 feet above sea level, a cruise speed of 491 miles per hour, and a maximum speed of 568 mph.
