Optimized performance - Smooth operation in all flight conditions, including multiplayer sessions.

4K-8K PBR textures - Photorealistic materials with accurate reflections, wear, and weathering effects.

The Boeing 737-400 is the largest member of the Classic 737 family, developed to meet the growing demand for higher-capacity short- and medium-haul aircraft. It extended the fuselage of the 737-300 to accommodate more passengers and cargo while retaining the efficiency, reliability, and commonality of the Classic series.

Powered by CFM56-3 turbofan engines, the 737-400 provided airlines with excellent fuel economy, reduced noise levels, and the operational flexibility to serve a wide range of routes. Its cockpit introduced the EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) suite, advanced autopilot features, and compatibility with the Flight Management System (FMS), making it a capable and modern airliner for its time.

The 737-400 was widely used by airlines around the world, valued for its balance of passenger capacity and cost-effective performance. Despite its increased size compared to the -300 and -500, it remained type-rated with the entire Classic family, ensuring seamless crew transitions and simplified fleet operations.

Designed for discerning simmers, the Boeing 737-400 Professional brings this iconic Classic jet to life with unmatched realism and attention to detail, ensuring an immersive and authentic flight experience every time.

The 737-400 is a twin-engine, narrow-body commercial airliner developed and manufactured by American aerospace company Boeing. The -400 is the second iteration of the 737 Classic generation of the 737 family of airliners. It is a variant of the 737-300 with a stretched fuselage. It took its maiden flight on February 19, 1988 and entered service in September of 1988.

The story of the 737-400 began in the mid-1960s when Boeing sought to develop a family of economical jetliners for short-haul routes. The company based the new design, called the 737, in part on their successful 727, a 3-engine, narrow-body model. The initial iteration of the 737, the 737-100, took its maiden flight on April 9, 1967 and entered service on February 10, 1968. Boeing then introduced the next jet in the line on April 28, 1968, the 737-200, a 737-100 with a stretched fuselage. These first two 737s, which Boeing would call the “737 Original” generation, proved resoundingly successful.

Boeing then developed the second generation of the 737, which the company would call the “737 Classic.” The first member of this generation, the 737-300, incorporated several upgrades and changes over its predecessors, including more powerful and efficient engines, a lengthened fuselage, higher passenger capacity, increased wingspan, and aerodynamically optimized wingtips. To create the 737-400, Boeing engineers extended the fuselage of the 737-300 to accommodate more passengers and cargo and used a more powerful engine variant.

Boeing manufactured a total of 486 of the 737-400 model during a production run that spanned from 1986 to 2000. Most of these were used for passenger service, with some converted as cargo carriers. Many remain in service with airlines throughout the world.

The 737-400 is piloted by two and has a maximum single-class passenger capacity of 188. It measures 119 feet, 7 inches in length, stands 36 feet, 6 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 94 feet, 9 inches. It is powered two CFM International CFM56-3B2 high-bypass turbofan engines, each of which generates up to 22,000 pounds of thrust.

The 737-400 has a range of 2,612 miles, a service ceiling of 37,000 feet above sea level, a cruise speed of 485 miles per hour, and a maximum speed of 544 mph.
