Optimized performance - Smooth operation in all flight conditions, including multiplayer sessions.

4K-8K PBR textures - Photorealistic materials with accurate reflections, wear, and weathering effects.

The Boeing 737-500 is a member of the Classic 737 family, bridging the gap between the earlier 737-200 and the modernized 737 Next Generation series. Designed as a shorter-range, more efficient successor, the 737-500 offered airlines enhanced fuel economy, upgraded avionics, and improved passenger comfort while retaining the reliability and ruggedness that made the 737 world-famous.

Powered by CFM56-3 turbofan engines, the 737-500 brought quieter operation and better efficiency compared to its predecessors, making it highly suitable for regional and medium-haul routes. Its cockpit features a modernized EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) suite, autopilot enhancements, and compatibility with advanced FMS (Flight Management System) options of its era, ensuring easier handling and greater operational flexibility.

Though smaller in capacity than the 737-300 and 737-400, the 737-500 offered airlines the ability to serve routes with lower demand without sacrificing efficiency or commonality, sharing the same type rating and systems with its Classic family siblings.

Designed for discerning simmers, the Boeing 737-500 Professional brings this iconic jetliner to life with unmatched realism and attention to detail, ensuring an immersive and authentic flight experience every time.

The 737-500 is a twin-engine, narrow-body commercial airliner developed and manufactured by American aerospace company Boeing. The -500 is the third and shortest variant of the 737 Classic generation of the 737 family of airliners. It took its maiden flight on June 30, 1989 and entered service on February 28, 1990.

The story of the 737-500 began in the mid-1960s when Boeing sought to develop a family of economical jetliners for short-haul routes. The company based the new design, called the 737, in part on their successful 727, a 3-engine, narrow-body model. The initial iteration of the 737, the 737-100, took its maiden flight on April 9, 1967 and entered service on February 10, 1968. Boeing then introduced the next model on April 28, 1968, the 737-200, which is a 737-100 with a stretched fuselage. These first two 737s, which Boeing would call the “737 Original” generation, proved resoundingly successful.

Boeing then developed the second generation of the 737, which the company would call the “737 Classic.” The first member of this generation, the 737-300, incorporated several upgrades and changes over its predecessors, including more powerful and efficient engines, a lengthened fuselage, higher passenger capacity, increased wingspan, and aerodynamically optimized wingtips. Boeing then developed a stretched variant, the 737-400, and a shortened variant, the 737-500. Due to its dimensions and engine pairing, 737-500 has greater fuel efficiency than the -300, allowing for longer routes with fewer passengers.

The 737-500 is piloted by two and has a maximum single-class passenger capacity of 140. It measures 101 feet, 9 inches in length, stands 36 feet, 6 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 94 feet, 9 inches. It is powered two CFM International CFM56-3B1 high-bypass turbofan engines, each of which generates up to 20,100 pounds of thrust.

The 737-500 has a range of 2,761 miles, a service ceiling of 37,000 feet above sea level, a cruise speed of 491 miles per hour, and a maximum speed of 544 mph.
