The 737-600 is a twin-engine, narrow-body jet airliner by American aviation manufacturer Boeing. The short- to medium-range jetliner is a member of the 737 Next Generation family, often called the 737NG or 737 Next Gen. The Next Generation program, which began in 1993, is the third iterative development of the 737, and features improvements that include a glass cockpit, greater fuel capacity, and more efficient engines. Boeing started developing the 737-600 in March of 1995 and it took its first flight on January 22, 1998. It is the smallest member of the 737 Next Generation lineage, and can accommodate up to 149 passengers, although it typically carries between 108 and 130, depending on specific configuration.

The aircraft measures 102 feet, 6 inches in length, stands 41 feet, 3 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 112 feet, 7 inches. The 737-600 is powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B high-bypass turbofan engines that each deliver up to 22,000 pounds of thrust. The jetliner has a range of 3,722 miles, a service ceiling of 41,000 feet above sea level, and it cruises at 521 miles per hour.
