The 757-200 is a narrow-body, twin-engine multi-role jet produced by American aerospace manufacturer Boeing. Primarily an airliner, the 757-200 has also served a number of military roles. The 757-200 took its maiden flight on February 19, 1982 and it entered service on January 1, 1983. More than 600 of the airframe remain in service.

The 757-200 measures 155 feet, 3 inches in length, stands 44 feet, 6 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 124 feet, 10 inches. The jet is crewed by two and can carry a maximum of 239 passengers. It is powered by two high-bypass turbofan engines, either Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000, that deliver up to approximately 43,000 pounds of thrust each. The 757-200 has a range of 4,505 miles, a service ceiling of 42,000 feet above sea level, and cruise speed of 531 miles per hour.
