The 767-300 is a twin-engine, wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by American aircraft producer Boeing. The -300 is a stretched variant of the 767-200, the initial production version of the 767 family. The prototype of the 767 took its maiden flight on September 26, 1981, and the aircraft entered commercial service in September of 1982. The 767-300 took its first flight on January 30, 1986 and entered service in October of 1986.

The history of the 767-300 dates to the late 1970s with the launch of Boeing’s 7X7 program, an initiative to replace narrow-body airliners with a larger, more modern airframe. With the success of the 767-200, Boeing stretched the fuselage by 21 feet, 1 inch to accommodate more passengers. Popular on routes in Asia and Europe, Boeing produced a total of 104 767-300s during a production run that spanned from 1986 to 2000.

The -300 is crewed by two and can carry up to 351 passengers, although it can accommodate up to 290 in typical configurations. It measures 180 feet, 3 inches in length and has a wingspan of 156 feet, 1 inch. It is powered by two high-bypass turbofan engines that generate up to 61,500 pounds of thrust each. It has a range of 4,500 miles, a service ceiling of 43,100 feet above sea level, and it cruises at up to 559 miles per hour.
