The 777-200 is a twin-engine, long-range, wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by American aerospace company Boeing. The -200 is the first production iteration of the 777 line, the prototype of which took its maiden flight on June 12, 1994. The 777-200 entered commercial service on June 7, 1995.

Often called the “Triple Seven,” the 777 is the world’s largest twin-engine jet aircraft. Hailed as an icon of innovation upon its release, the 777-200 features state-of-the-art digital flight management and diagnostics, fly-by-wire controls, and a glass cockpit. The aircraft is piloted by two and can carry up to a maximum of 440 passengers, although it typically accommodates 305 in standard seating arrangements. It measures 209 feet, 1 inch in length, has a fuselage width of 20 feet, 4 inches, and stands 60 feet, 9 inches from the ground to the top of its vertical stabilizer. The aircraft has a swept main wing with a span of 199 feet, 11 inches.

The 777-200 is powered by two wing-mounted high-bypass turbofan engines, the Pratt & Whitney PW4000, the Rolls-Royce Trent 800, or the General Electric GE90, each of which generates up to 77,200 pounds of thrust. The 777-200 has a range of 6,030 miles, a service ceiling of 43,100 feet above sea level, a cruising speed of 555 miles per hour, and a maximum speed of 588 mph.
