A318 Professional - Highly Detailed Model for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Experience the pinnacle of flight simulation with the A318 Professional, an ultra-realistic add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This meticulously crafted model delivers unparalleled accuracy and immersion, perfect for aviation enthusiasts and virtual pilots.

Key Features: Fully animated aircraft - every moving part, from flight controls to cockpit switches, has been precisely modeled and animated.

Highly detailed exterior & interior - authentic textures, materials, and geometry down to the smallest components.

Optimized performance - smooth operation in all flight conditions, including multiplayer sessions.

4K-8K PBR textures - photorealistic materials with accurate reflections, wear, and weathering effects.

The Airbus A318 is the smallest member of the A320 family, often referred to as the "Baby Bus." Despite its compact size, it retains all the advanced features of its larger siblings, including fly-by-wire controls and modern EFIS avionics. Primarily used for short to medium-haul routes, the A318 is favored by airlines operating from airports with restrictive runway conditions. Its efficient performance and Airbus' signature handling characteristics make it a unique and versatile aircraft in its class.

Designed for discerning simmers, the A318 Professional brings this exceptional jet to life with unprecedented realism and attention to detail.

The A318 is a twin-engine, low-wing, narrow-body airliner by European aerospace manufacturer Airbus. The fourth iteration of the A320 family, it is the shortest and overall smallest airframe of the group, with a length of 103 feet, 2 inches, and a maximum seating capacity of 132 passengers.

Manufactured from 2001 to 2013, the A318 ranks as the least produced of the A320 family, with just 80 made. The jet took its first flight on January 15, 2002, and entered service in July of 2003 with its first customer, Frontier Airlines. The A318 is notable for its steep approach capability. It is the largest commercial aircraft that the European Aviation Safety Agency has certified for steep approach operations.

The A318 features a swept main with a span of 111 feet, 11 inches, a retractable tricycle landing gear, and a conventional tail. Engineers extended the length of the jet’s vertical stabilizer over that of others of the A320 family to compensate for lost yaw authority due to shortening the length of the fuselage. The A318’s digital flight control software allows the aircraft to perform landing approaches with descent angles of up to 5.5 degrees, 2.5 degrees greater than normal, using the wing’s spoilers for increased drag.

The A318 is powered by two wing-mounted high-bypass turbofans, a pair of Pratt & Whitney PW6000 or CFM International CFM56-5B engines. It has a top speed of 541 miles per hour, cruises at 514 mph, and a range of 3,567 miles.

The most aerodynamically nimble member of the Airbus A320 lineage of airliners, pilots can push skills to their very limits in the agile A318. From within its advanced flight deck that comprises an all-glass cockpit and side-stick control, aviators can test their abilities with approaches into the most confined airports throughout the globe, launch again onto a steep climb-out, and then cruise miles above the planet’s surface and enjoy wide-open vistas, day or night.
