About the Airbus A340-200 The Airbus A340-200 is the shorter-fuselage, long-range variant of Airbus’ iconic four-engine widebody family. Designed for extended-range operations, it features powerful CFM International CFM56-5C engines, offering a balance of performance and efficiency. While not as ultra-long-range as the A340-500, the -200 model excels in medium to long-haul routes, providing airlines with flexibility and reliability.

Equipped with an advanced fly-by-wire system and optimized aerodynamics, the A340-200 delivers a smooth and stable flight experience. Its spacious cabin ensures passenger comfort, with reduced noise levels and improved cabin pressurization compared to older-generation aircraft.

Designed for discerning simmers, the Airbus A340-200 Professional brings this iconic quadjet to life with unprecedented realism and attention to detail, ensuring an immersive and authentic flight experience every time.

The A340-200 is a 4-engine, long-range, wide-body jet airliner developed and manufactured by European aviation consortium Airbus. It was one of two initial iterations of the A340 line, the other being the A340-300 (which has a slightly longer fuselage and can carry more passengers). The A340-300 took its maiden flight on October 25, 1991 and the A-340-200 took its maiden flight on April 1, 1992. Both entered service in March of 1993.

The A340 line was developed based on technology from previous Airbus aircraft, notably the A330. The A340-200, like all iterations of the A340 lineage, features a glass cockpit, advanced avionics, and fly-by-wire controls. The twin-aisle A340 was the first long-range Airbus airliner line, and some A340-200 variants continue to serve customers throughout the world.

The A340-200 is piloted by two and can carry a maximum of 420 passengers, but typically seats from 210 to 303 in standard configurations. It measures 194 feet, 11 inches in length, stands 55 feet, 11 inches high, and has a wingspan of 198 feet. The A340-200 is powered by four wing-mounted CFM International CFM56-5C high-bypass turbofan engines that each deliver up to 34,000 pounds of thrust. The A340-200 has a range of 8,400 miles, a service ceiling of 41,100 feet above sea level, a cruising speed of 541 miles per hour, and a top speed of 568 mph.
