The 787-8 is a twin-engine wide-body jet airliner produced by American aerospace manufacturer Boeing. The -8 is the inaugural release of the 787 Dreamliner family which Boeing began developing in early 2003 as a next-generation, high-efficiency line. The 787-8 took its maiden flight on December 15, 2009 and it entered service on October 26, 2011.

The 787-8 is crewed by two and has the capacity to carry up to 381, but typically accommodates 242 passengers. Like all in the Dreamliner family, the 787-8 is composed primarily of carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite materials. This makes it much lighter, stronger, and longer lasting than previous manufacturing techniques. The 787-8 also features an advanced wing with raked tips, which minimizes drag throughout its flight profile. Other innovations featured in the -8 include advanced avionics and flight controls and noise-reducing engine nacelles.

The 787-8 measures 186 feet, 1 inch in length, stands 55 feet, 6 inches tall, and has a wingspan of 197 feet, 3 inches. It is powered by two high-bypass turbofan engines, either the General Electric GEnx-1B or the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000. The 787-8 has a range of 8,464 miles, a service ceiling of 43,100 feet above sea level, a cruise speed of 562 miles per hour, and a top speed of 594 mph.

Aviators cherish cockpit time in the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. A showcase of the state-of-the-art, the aircraft is an operational masterpiece of performance, precision control, and reliability, ready to soar through the skies anywhere.
