The J-10 Vigorous Dragon is a medium-weight, multi role combat aircraft capable of all-weather operations, configured with a delta wing and canard design, with fly-by-wire flight controls. The J-10 is mainly designed for air-to-air combat, but can also perform strike missions.

The J-10 is a single-seat, single-engine, supersonic multi-role combat aircraft developed and manufactured by Chengdu of China. The J-10 took its first flight on March 23, 1998 and was introduced in 2005. The J-10 is operated by the militaries of China and Pakistan.

The J-10 has a delta-shaped main wing that extends from its midsection to its rear and has foreplanes near its nose for pitch control. It utilizes advanced alloys and composite materials to balance high strength with light weight and it features advanced avionics and fly-by-wire flight controls.

The jet can perform a variety of missions, including air superiority, interdiction, strike, close air support, and ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) data collections.

The J-10A is powered by a single afterburning turbofan engine that produces up to 17,860 pounds of thrust in military power and 29,000 pounds of thrust with afterburner. The aircraft has a maximum range of 1,150 miles, a service ceiling of 59,000 feet above sea level, and maximum speed of Mach 2.2 at altitude and Mach 1.2 at sea level. The airframe can sustain between +9.0 g and -3g.
