The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a Loyal Wingman class stealth, multi role, uncrewed aerial vehicle. It is designed as a force multiplier aircraft capable of flying alongside crewed aircraft for support and performing autonomous missions independently using artificial intelligence.

The MQ-28 is a low-observable, multi-mission, unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) developed by American aviation producer Boeing through a partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The single-engine, jet-powered MQ-28 uses advanced sensor fusion capabilities and high-speed computing for the optimization of tactical and operational situational awareness. This allows the aircraft to perform roles either autonomously or as a “loyal wingman” in a manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) functional environment. The aircraft incorporates operational modularity through a removable nose; each nose comprises a suite of capabilities, including software, for a specific mission. These missions include air superiority, electronic warfare, strike, and ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) data collections.

The MQ-28 features advanced composite construction, a lifting body fuselage blended into swept main wings, and an empennage that consists of two outwardly-canted vertical stabilizers. The UCAV measures 38 feet, 5 inches in length and has a wingspan of 23 feet, 11 inches. The aircraft operates in subsonic speeds and has a range of up to 2,300 miles.
