The Schweizer S300 series (formerly Hughes 300, Schweizer 300, and Sikorsky S-300) family of light utility helicopters was originally produced by Hughes Helicopters, as a development of the Hughes 2691. Later manufactured by Schweizer Aircraft, and currently produced by Schweizer RSG, the basic design has been in production for over 50 years. The single, three-bladed main rotor and piston-powered S-300 is mostly used as a cost-effective platform for training and agriculture. The S300CBi trainer (1,750-pound max takeoff weight), equipped with a 180-hp Lycoming HIO-360-G1A and delivering a 648-pound useful load and 94 knot top speed.

The S300 is a single-engine light utility helicopter manufactured by the Schweizer Aircraft Corporation. The helicopter is relatively inexpensive to operate and maintain and is known for its reliability, having proven itself over decades. The S300 is popular for a number of applications, including rotary wing flight training, agriculture, general aviation and some government use including limited law enforcement and military. The S300, which was developed from the Hughes Model 269, comes in a number of variants. It is piloted by one and can carry up to two passengers.
