Welcome to Kittyhawk Aerodrome; a well-established unlicensed airfield located on the edge of the picturesque South Downs National Park in Sussex. Originally founded as a private strip in 1995, it has grown to accommodate a wide range of General Aviation (GA) visitors, including helicopters, gyrocopters, flex-wings, and the occasional twin-engine and turboprop aircraft. With three grass runways, the longest exceeding 800 meters, the airfield welcomes both domestic and international flights. Its summer fly-ins have become a popular attraction for both locals and visiting aviation enthusiasts.
Thriving airfields provide significant economic, employment, transport, recreational, flight training, STEM, community, biodiversity, and emergency service benefits to both the aviation sector and the surrounding area. Kittyhawk Aerodrome is committed to supporting and promoting these benefits while maintaining harmony with its beautiful natural surroundings.
Kittyhawk has been faithfully recreated by Burning Blue Design working with Kittyhawk Aerodrome management and undertaking on-site visits, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy. It features:
- Over 50 custom 3D objects each with full Physical Based Rendering (PBR) textures
- Detailed hangar interiors with working animated hangar doors
- Dynamic animated spectators
- Custom terraforming with accurate runway profiles
- Completely custom animated windsocks
- Full night lighting and dynamic weather compatibility
- Enhanced high resolution colour corrected ground textures
- Numerous custom aircraft have been included reflect actual aircraft found at the airfield:
- American Champion Super Decathlon - G-IZZZ
- Piper PA-28 - G-CLFY
- Piper PA-28 - G-BSZT
Please note. Kittyhawk Aerodrome has only recently been assigned ICAO code EGKF. Unfortunately this code is already assigned in MSFS. Therefore, EGKG has been used to avoid clashes with other default MSFS scenery.
