The Aeroclube de Bauru was founded on April 8, 1939, forming its first class of aviators on February 21, 1940. Considered one of the clubs with the greatest aerial activity in all of Brazil, the Aeroclube de Bauru has the largest fleet of gliders available in a national club, in addition to several motor aircraft. Since 1949, the Aeroclube de Bauru occupies the first place in the national ranking of Gliders Pilot, being this sports brand a pride and a traditional brand of the city. In 32 years of championship, the pilots of the air club were 28 times in first place in the national ranking.
