Rome Ciampino "G.B. Pastine" International Airport, is an airport located south-east of Rome, Italy. Ciampino was born in 1916 as a yard for airships. On 1 December 1926 the "P" Department was established, under the Ministry's Cabinet, for the transport of high personalities. In 1930 it would then be operated to civil flights. Today it is an internationl airport that absorbs most of the traffic coming from Low Cost airlines and the main base of the National Civil Protection fleet of the firefighting aircraft.
