The Salvador International Airport — Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães (IATA: SSA, ICAO: SBSV), also known as Salvador Bahia Airport (a brand name adopted by the operator), is located 28 km from downtown Salvador, occupying an area of approximately 7 million square meters, composed of dunes and native vegetation. It is the largest and busiest airport in the state, ranking tenth in terms of passenger traffic among the country's airports.

With a daily average of around 25,000 passengers, which can reach up to 35,000 during the high season, the airport recorded a total of 8 million passengers in 2018. It boasts a complete airport infrastructure, including a passenger terminal with the current capacity to handle 11 million passengers per year, and an apron capable of operating 26 aircraft simultaneously.

A notable feature of the airport is its beautiful bamboo avenue, approximately 1 km long, located on the access road to the airport. This avenue has existed since the late 1940s and provides a visually pleasant experience for visitors.
