Prievidza Airport is a public international airport for general aviation flights included in the public transport infrastructure. The airport operator is Aeroklub Prievidza, s.r.o. It is situated in the beautiful Upper Nitra Basin between Prievidza and Bojnice with an unmistakable view of Bojnice Castle. The airport is currently used mainly for the following purposes: aviation sports, air tourism, parachuting sports, mass cultural and social events, national and international aviation sports events at the highest level, development, production and servicing of aircraft and aviation equipment. It is the home airport for almost thirty aircraft. As bonus in this package you will got small airstrip LZBI Dlzin, which is located near the Nitrianske Rudno reservoir. The scenery is also compatible with MSFS2024.

The date of the establishment of the airport and the flying club is considered to be the date on the letter by which the owner of the land ZDA Partizánske allowed the use of a clover field after the harvest, 600 m long, for aircraft take-offs and landings. The first aircraft that the flying club received was the Z–22 Junák OK-EJL, which was hangared in Partizánske. For Sunday flying, it always flew to Prievidza. In 1950, construction of the hangar began. The hangar was built mostly by part-time workers.

In 2018, the Prievidza Aeroclub received a large investment from the local automotive supplier Brose to modernize the airport. A new asphalt runway with LED lighting was built. The modernization was completed in 2019.
