Belo Horizonte Airport / Carlos Prates is an airport in the municipality of Belo Horizonte. It began its activities in January 1944, in order to serve the Aeroclube State of Minas Gerais, founded on November 6, 1936 at Pampulha Airport. The purpose of the air club has always been formed for civil and military competition.

Carlos Prates has the designation to serve the non-scheduled flights of the Air Taxi, General Aviation, flight instruction aircraft (pilot training) and the indication of pilots as rotating (helicopters). The Airport has aircraft maintenance, hangar and construction companies (advanced ultralights).

Carlos Prates Airport, which despite having the name of a neighboring neighborhood, is located at Rua Ocidental, nº 100 in the Padre Eustáquio neighborhood, approximately 6 km northwest of the city center of Belo Horizonte – MG.

It operates from sunrise to sunset (HJ).

At the airport facilities and in operation are chosen as fasteners and rotary, in addition to the club of the State of Minas Gerais, responsible for the professional training of the school.
