The Schwarze Heide airfield (EDLD) is located in the Kirchheller Heide in the northern Ruhr area, Germany . The airfield is operated jointly by the city of Bottrop , the municipality of Hünxe , the city of Dinslaken and the city of Voerde.

The 1500 meter long and 30 meter wide, asphalted runway has a beacon with threshold flashes in both approach directions. The airfield is open for flight operations in summer from 08:00 to 20:30 and in winter from 09:00 to sunset.

The Schwarze Heide airfield is a popular leisure destination for cyclists and walkers. It offers leisure and business flights in powered aircraft, gliders , microlights and helicopters . The airfield is the location of several flight schools, the state performance center for gliding. Various public flight days with different attractions and flight demonstrations also take place at the airfield.
