Welcome to Alice Springs Airport (YBAS) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!

Alice Springs Airport, (IATA: ASP, ICAO: YBAS), is a regional airport located 13km south of Alice Springs. The airport has two runways, the larger of which (12-30) can accommodate the Boeing 747 and the Airbus A380. While all the airport’s scheduled flights are domestic, occasionally charter airlines use it for international operations. The Royal Flying Doctor Service also uses Alice Springs Airport as a base which provides emergency services to 1.25 square kilometres of the Australian outback. When the Airport was built in 1940, it was originally named Seven Mile Aerodrome and was primarily used by the Royal Australian Air Force and the United States Air Force. Due to its warm and dry climate, Alice Springs is perfect for Aircraft storage and preservation which is why there is a large-scale aircraft boneyard used to store planes which either aren't in use, or planes that have been decommissioned from service.
