Benito Salas Vargas Airport is one of the main air terminals in southern Colombia, it is located in the north of the city of Neiva, Huila, Colombia. It mainly serves the city and other regions of the department that are connected by land and located in the south of Colombian territory. The airport takes its name from the hero of independence Benito Salas Vargas, whose body is believed to have been buried on the La Manguita hacienda, the place where the airport was built. Due to regional interest and the National Government, it was decided to build the airport in Neiva, uniting the lands of the "La Manguita" farm owned by Bertha Borrero de Valenzuela, with those of Abacú Lozano, known by the name of "La Cucaracha", and others belonging to Silvestre Falla Borrero, thus completing 130 hectares.
